People who help us 👮🏼‍♂️👩🏾‍🚒🦷

This term we have been learning all about people who help us.

We started with vets and made the role play area into a veterinary surgery. The children enjoyed looking after the different animals.

The following week, we learnt about the police and all the different ways they help people.

We were lucky to have a visit from the community police officer with his car and uniform.

We had fun learning about fingerprints and how we all have different patterns.

We then moved onto learning about firefighters and their job. It was very exciting when the big fire engine turned up at preschool!

Natalie got dressed up in the uniform to show us all.

Then we all got a go with the powerful hose!!! It was great fun.

The next occupations we looked at were doctors, nurses and paramedics. The role play area became a doctor’s surgery and they all enjoyed pretending to be doctors and nurses.

We made skeletons out of cotton buds

and cut and stuck things to put in a first aid kit.

Finally we did a week based on dentists. This was an important week teaching us all about how to keep our teeth healthy.

We used our snipping skills to make a pretend toothbrush

and learnt how to brush our teeth properly using circular motions.

Then one of the children shared his experience of going to the dentist.

What a busy term of learning.
